Humanities

At Woorinen District Primary School, our Humanities program inspires curiosity about the world, past and present. Through engaging lessons in History, Geography, Civics & Citizenship, and Economics, students develop critical thinking skills, empathy, and an understanding of how societies function.

What We Learn

🔹 History – Exploring the past to understand how it shapes our present.
🔹 Geography – Investigating places, people, and the environment.
🔹 Civics & Citizenship – Learning about rights, responsibilities, and democracy.
🔹 Economics – Understanding money, resources, and decision-making.

Our Approach

We make learning interactive and meaningful by incorporating:
Inquiry-based learning – Encouraging students to ask questions and seek answers.
Hands-on activities – Mapping exercises, historical role-play, and local community projects.
Real-world connections – Exploring global issues and local solutions.

By fostering curiosity and critical thinking, our Humanities program prepares students to be informed, active, and responsible members of their community.
